remember when audrey hepburn declared she didn't consider herself exceptionally beautiful and that her beauty is actually very common? well, she's both right and wrong on both accounts. wrong because she IS exceptionally beautiful, and quite right about the "common" part. one of my professors even looks like her except imagine a blonde, boy-cut-haired audrey in glasses. though not as girlish as audrey, she does stand out because she has really kind eyes, always a welcoming smile, amusing english accent and teaches well.
and she gave us a 17 for our project, haha, not that it affects her beauty whatsoever. but i'm quite happy she found our project interesting. we were working on fog lamps at the beginning but there's just not much references on fog lamp design and quality measurements except on patents. i think if we had more time we'd have been able to read through the industry standards document, for one, and understand the basic designs of fog lamps.
anyway, we did an optimization on SELFOC lenses, which pleased her. she didn't even have further comments during the assessment which is a relief because we had quite a lot of trouble trying to rationalize why we couldn't increase the input angle to more than 27.5 degrees. anyway, there it was and all is well :)
