aww T_T i know this is not entirely true since we are our own worst critic but to know that sometime in her life she felt that way about me makes me cry. i love you ate. you're the only room mate i ever had who never turned their back on me despite the constant fights, sibling rivalry, even distance. perhaps it's because no matter how annoying or depressing or frustrating i am, i'm still your sister and you really have no choice in the matter haha.

good days and how you define them

good days are when you have friends who tell you you CAN cook rice in a microwave using THE cooking ware with an "aperture" hahahaha. gotta go to del haize one of these days to buy one.

cooking is easy, put it in the microwave for 15 minutes, take it out and add a little more water, cook again for another 5 minutes and tada! microwave rice.

good days are when you talk with another friend about the weather and you both realize: so this is why europeans love talking about the weather! the weather here is so changeable and the sunny days make people happy it's actually a really interesting topic for small talk :)) you can't say the same for philippine weather because it's the same all throughout the year except for the occasional typhoons which doesn't exactly make people happy. but, yeah, the weather's pretty nice today despite the wind :)

i bought eggs! i wasn't very excited about the prospect of having to go to the kitchen to cook but, nevertheless, i miss having eggs so i popped by the grocery on the way home. now thanks to the internet i've learned how to cook eggs in a microwave hahaha. no need to go to the kitchen weeee!

for starters i didn't do anything fancy, just simple scrambled egg. an egg, a little milk and oil, beat them together, microwave on high for 2 minutes..

and tada! now i can make egg sandwich aside from ham sandwich. hahaha, oh the small pleasures in life :P forgive me for being so shallow but we never cook eggs in the microwave at home :P

calendar syncing issue

i tweaked my phone again. i wanted my phone calendar synced to my google calendar, but unfortunately no matter how much i set it to sync automatically, it won't. actually, it wouldn't sync at all and i get this error icon on my google settings screen which is annoying because it's red..plus it has an "!" on it. i could install google calendar, it has no problem syncing the data with my browser. the only problem is, i kinda like the phone calendar UI better.

the agenda for the selected day shown at the bottom of the phone calendar is most convenient. plus you can set the view (month, week, or day) in one click unlike for google calendar where you have to do it in two clicks (press "October 2013" then select view).

so the only workaround i could think of to get the best features from both is to have both apps installed on my phone. what it does is, i edit tasks in the phone calendar which gets automatically synced with my google calendar which, in turn, is also synced with the cloud. a waste of memory space, yeah, but i don't suppose i'll be doing heavy scheduling of tasks for now so it should be okay. should i need space later, one of the calendars needs to go haha.

one week and three days in belgie! so much has has been going on the past week that "update journal" finds itself at bottom of my to-do list. i haven't taken a lot of pictures so far because of the hectic schedule due to a week's delay, but i'll get onto it the moment i catch up :D

i've been tweaking with the phone my sister gave me though. deleted a few unnecessary apps (london bus countdown, etc) and adding stuff i really need (de lijn, gmail, skype, google translate) and, of course, changing the background which isn't really necessary but it makes me happy anyway.

tadaaa! it's not one of my best paintings in terms of composition (rightmost feathers are hastily painted for a start) but for the moment it's my favorite and it's the one i miss the most considering it's no longer in my collection at home.

anyway, here are other random pics which aren't related to each other but i love my camera phone.

i found this little cat at the bottom of my hair accessories bag. i'm not much of a cat person but i'm still happy this little kitty followed me halfway round the world :) i should give it a name or something.
